Celebrate Thanksgiving in the Mountains

Afternoon Options

DutchOvenCooking

We love sharing the rich culture of the Appalachian mountains throughout the weekend.  The Blue Ridge mountains provide us a beautiful backdrop for free time on both Friday and Saturday afternoons. Our intention is to provide a variety of workshops that will appeal to folks of all ages and interests.

The schedule of the afternoon options will be in your information folder that you will receive at check in. Every day during lunch a staff member will make announcements regarding locations and times of that afternoon's activities. Sign up sheets are found in the lobby.

There are so many places to explore while you are here at Folk Camp. Downtown Black Mountain offers craft stores, a knitting shop, longstanding Town Hardware, a bookstore, a brand new toy store and several breweries and eateries.

If you want to venture off a little bit the Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 7 miles away for a nice drive through the mountains. You could go  into Asheville (20 minutes drive) for the afternoon with it's variety of areas to explore - downtown, River Arts District, Biltmore Estates and so much more!
